This position performs a full range of advanced administrative support, record keeping, and general administrative duties. Assigned tasks are generally complex and diverse in nature requiring broad and comprehensive experience, skill, and knowledge of Bank’s policies and practices. Performs considerable coordination and follow-through; sets priorities and procedures for accomplishing work assignment. Requires 3+ years of experience in mortgage loan processing and closing procedures. Base compensation plus commission.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Preparation, tracking and completion of all Special Assets assessments and action summaries of all credits assigned to Special Assets. Will perform credit analysis, underwriting credit approval memo’s, write/ compile a variety of reports, process loan payments and manage OREO properties agreements, expenses and income. Proven experience with SAAS reports. Proficiency with Word/Excel, ability to meet multiple deadlines, understanding of general real estate contracts and able to interpret and implement current banking regulations. 2 years commercial lending/ credit experience. Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience needed for consideration.

A combination of 1-2 years previous teller experience and 1 year new account experience preferred. Requires reliable transportation for various location travel.

Approves or denies mortgage loans by timely review and underwriting of Conventional, FHA, VA, Rural Development, and HUD Section 184 loans originated to insure the marketability into the secondary market and in compliance with all SpiritBank’s Lending Policies, Procedures, Compliance Program and guidelines. Preferably has HUD DE designation.

Responsible for the overall daily operations and functions of the mortgage lending division’s Processing, Closing, Underwriting and Shipping staff to insure all loan activity and documentation meets guidelines as set forth by secondary market investors for marketability of loan and internal SpiritBank Compliance policy and procedures. Previous secondary market mortgage underwriting experience required. Federal Housing Administration (FHA) - DE (Designated Underwriter) and Veterans Administration (VA) - LAPP designations required along with previous experience in review of USDA Rural Housing and Section 184 Native American Housing programs.

This junior level analyst position is responsible for obtaining and analyzing financial statements of borrowers; prepares underwriting documents used in the approval process, analyzes risks and works to mitigate them; prepares account reviews for complex relationships, ensures that the extensions of credit adhere to bank policies; assists credit manager in preparation of reports for senior managers and Board of Directors. Requires BS/BA (preferably in accounting, business, or finance), well developed PC skills in MS Office/Word/Excel.
